On the 6th May, Wendy (S.H.E Programme Manager – Zambia) attended the ‘Central Provincial Adolescent Health Indaba 2023’, hosted by the Ministry of Health and their partners, together with two of our beneficiaries, Beverly and Jennifer.
Throughout the event, Beverly and Jennifer represented our other twenty (20) beneficiaries extremely well, by shining in everything that they did. In the room where over 200 young people were seated, together with government officials and line ministry representatives, NGOs and CSOs – they confidently introduced themselves which resulted in the entire room cheering and up lauding them.
One of our long-term strategic goals for our S.H.E Programme in Zambia is to ensure that Catalyst Foundation becomes the hub of girl-child education in the country! We hope to achieve this by ensuring that our beneficiaries are given the opportunity to take centre stage in representing the charity organisation, at high level meetings, where educational, health, and social economical policies, and decisions are made and discussed.
Attending this event was the first step to us achieving our goal.
Upon reflection after the event, Wendy stated that she felt so proud of Beverly and Jennifer, and she was emotional as well. She especially was grateful to the gentleman who managed to capture the moment when Beverly was on the spotlight!! — this was her happiest moment!
We look forward to attending many more events like this in the future, raising awareness about the incredible work that we are doing, and the impact that we are creating in the Chibombo district in Zambia.
