Meet Anaishe Grace

Anaishe Grace

We would like to introduce Anaishe to you, and for you to get to know the journey that led to her becoming part of the Catalyst Foundation – S.H.E Programme, a little bit more. Anaishe joined the Catalyst Foundation – S.H.E Programme in 2022, as one of our beneficiary’s from the Beatrice district in Zimbabwe. She really loves the colour pink, eating chicken and chips, and her main hobby includes reading English novels. Before joining the S.H.E Programme, Anaishe had numerous barriers that prevented her from going to school and attaining an education.

When she was young, her parents separated due to her father being an aggressive alcoholic. Anaishe and her siblings chose to live with her mother after her parents’ separation, as they did not want to continue being abused by her father when he had too much to drink. Sadly, Anaishe’s mother passed away a few years later, which was really hard for her as she meant everything to her. After her mother’s passing, Anaishe’s father came back into her life and decided to seek help for his alcoholism, in order for him to be the role model that she needed, during her formative years. He successfully managed to become sober and they worked really hard to repair their relationship, as father and daughter.

Before joining the S.H.E Programme, Anaishe family’s financial situation was incredibly unstable. They were only able to afford to eat one daily meal, they were unable to pay for her school fees, uniforms and stationery, and for her medical treatment, as she suffered from extremely painful migraines. Through our holistic support, we were able to remove all of Anaishe’s barriers, allowing her to go back to school and continue with her education. We were able to identify, through our health check examinations, a few health issues that Anaishe had, such as an Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), having terrible migraines and high levels of protein in her urine. From this analysis, we have now addressed all of these issues, and now she is perfectly healthy, with her migraines now under control. Anaishe’s family can now have three daily meals, and they have peace of mind, knowing that her needs are taken care of, when it comes to her education.

Anaishe is currently a Prefect at her school, and once she finishes her secondary schooling, she has dreams of going to university to become a Pilot. We look forward to one day being seated on a plane, and hearing her introduce herself as the plane’s Pilot!
