Last year, our #SHEWALKS2 event raised £2,252.00 / US$380.00, and we had 42 participants take part. With these funds, we managed to purchase bicycles for twelve (12) beneficiaries in Zimbabwe to make their daily journey to school a bit easier.
Before launching our annual #SHEWALKS fundraising event in March this year, our goal was to raise £4,200.00 / US$5,000.00, with all funds raised going directly to our Zambian beneficiaries to tackle the challenges that they face when travelling to school every day.
Fast forward two months later, through all of our amazing participants generosity (84 participants in total), we have managed to raise an astounding £9,402.00 / US$11,851.00, with 1,500km / 932 miles haven been walked or run!
