Girl-child education statistics in Zambia and the need for our support!

Despite Zambia having obtained a lower middle income status, it continues to face high levels of poverty and inequality. Girls experience high rates of exclusion from education, particularly in the rural areas, such as the Chibombo district (Central, 100km from Lusaka – capital city), where our S.H.E Programme will operate in.

Only 27% of girls complete their upper secondary school, and among the poorest children, this falls to 3% – UNICEF (2019).

The need for our support in Zambia is great, and as we create impact in the lives of our new beneficiaries, we hope that through our holistic support plans, we will help to bridge this gap – as we believe that every girl-child has the right to an education!
