Times when the family’s farming projects were not going too well, Madeline was unable to go to school. However, when she was able to return to school, she did not have access to stationery supplies, textbooks or exercise books, making her feel insecure.
After meeting Madeline’s teachers at her school, we found out that her academic ability was exceptional, despite her missing numerous days of school at a time. She is a really hard worker, and has a strong passion to be educated. Her teachers believe that with Catalyst Foundation’s support, she has the potential to accomplish phenomenal results in her exams and achieve great things in her future.
Through our holistic support provided to Madeline, we were able to remove all of her barriers, allowing her to go to school and continue with her education. We provided her with new school uniforms, shoes, a school bag, stationery, textbooks, exercise books, sanitary wear and family food hampers. Our health check examinations carried out, identified that Madeline had an urinary Tract Infection (UTI). From this analysis, we were able to address her health issues, and she is now perfectly healthy.
Madeline’s mother expresses gratitude and commends Catalyst Foundation for promoting girl-child education, and empowering the girl child, particularly for sponsoring and supporting her daughter through education. She now has peace of mind, knowing that all of Madeline’s needs are taken care of, and she can now focus on supporting the rest of the family, as best as they possibly can.
Since joining the S.H.E Programme, Madeline has transformed into a confident individual, and is motivated to continue studying hard to complete her studies with flying colours. Once she finishes her secondary schooling, she has dreams of going to university to become a Teacher.
We asked Madeline to share with us in one sentence what the
Catalyst Foundation – S.H.E Programme means to her:
“I felt amazing when I put on my brand-new school uniform, and motivated to continue working hard, all because my S.H.E family believes in me.”
